I have nearly 30 years experience in top executive reward, working on the design of pay structures and short and long-term incentives. My clients have spanned a broad range of sectors (mostly private but including some public sector/not-for-profit organisations) and geographies (e.g. UK, Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia) and I have provided these clients primarily with advice on board or tier-one manager remuneration. During this time, my roles have been at partner level or equivalent and I have led teams of top executive pay consultants at Hay Group/Korn Ferry and with my previous firms.
I originally qualified as a chartered accountant and became a fellow of the institute of tax before specialising first in share incentives and then top executive pay. I have a BSc in Engineering Science from Durham University.
Although I have worked with many listed companies, my passion lies in helping privately owned organisations and those facing the challenges of change such as combining businesses, undergoing sales or preparing for public flotations. As a consequence, I have worked with several private equity investors and sovereign wealth funds as well as the boards and remuneration committees of the companies themselves.
